Well here we are in ‘beautiful downtown Safford’ for our winter AWAY from the snow and cold. Nice thought… We have been here since the beginning of November, which was nice with day temps in the 70’s and nite temps in the 50’s. NOW, the daytime temps are in the low 50’s, if we are lucky, and nite temps in the 20’s. So much for lazying by the pool and soaking in the jacuzzi. Oh well, I guess it’s better than what the rest of the country has. At least there is no snow on the ground here. But we do have snow all around.
Patti and I went out for a drive yesterday, and waited and waited (about 3 hours) for the clouds to dissipate and allow us to view the majestic mountain vistas. We did see some mountain vistas, but most didn’t show their crags while the sun was still out.

Although the ‘mountain mandala’ surrounding Safford is white, they are not like the Rockies with its blanket of white on its tops. We still haven’t seen Mt. Graham (10,500′), as it is still deep in the clouds.

So sorry about the wait since the last post… It seems the WordPress editor changed the format of how the pictures are inserted and I had to re-learn the change. Don’t know why the digital age is always changing. The good news is – it is figured out, and I can now insert pictures – more work for me (the new way) but I guess it is better for someone out there…
Oh, and as an update, the weather this week and into next, is in the mid to high 70’s… Sorry East Coast, don’t mean to rub it in. Stay warm…
Your photos are gorgeous! I like letting winter fall all around me, now that I don’t have to drive in possible dangerous conditions. I love the snow, the silence of it, the sparkly beauty of it. But then again, I’m not hauling the firewood. :-). Wondering what you thought of Las Cruces. We will be driving to visit you sometime…you are not far off our beaten path to San Diego.
