Venturing South, once again, on our way to Arizona, stopping at Black Canyon for a quick night in the mountains near Santa Fe. Traveling with a 19′ travel trailer behind the truck in the bustling city of Santa Fe was a trip. One we probably won’t do again! Getting off I-25 onto busy St. Francis Blvd, we had to travel through a residential area on our way to Hyde Memorial St. Park. The road is windy, narrow with sharp turns and few places to pull off so cars that pile up behind us, can go around. Thank goodness it wasn’t Friday or Saturday.
Hyde Memorial St. Park was full so we back-tracked about a mile and found a space in Black Canyon St. Park This campground does not have electricity, yet it was beautiful. There were tall pines everywhere, a nice hiking trail, and it was cool-mountain cool. Some of the spaces were small and all were back-in spaces, no pull throughs. More practice! The campground host, Chris, helped me with great directions, thank you Chris. I am still learning the best way to approach different back-up situations. Never stop learning, or being grateful for help.

The individual spaces had beautiful stone work that held back the earth around the sites. The whole campground was very clean and very well maintained.

We enjoyed our short stay in the cool mountain air. Up early the next morning we left, timing our departure to miss Friday morning Santa Fe rush hour traffic. I-25 South, here we come.
Good picture of you two. Watch out for balloon fiesta traffic…and balloons
