Hidden Falls
This morning my mission was to find Hidden Falls. Arising at 6:00am and out the door by 6:30am drove to the trailhead with cameras in hand and water in the CamelBak.
This State Park is an Elite Mountain Bike course, which we did not know at first. Bikers from all over the country come here to ride over the rocks and trails. When I found this out I purposely waited till Monday (today) to hike to the falls. I didn’t want to be dodging mountain bikers or have them run me over, since I was afoot.
I did not find the trail to be very well marked, at least for hikers. The trails were marked for the mountain suicide bikers, which took a while for me to decipher. After I realized I was on the wrong trail, I had to double back to get to the correct trail that led to Hidden Falls (little did I know it would be soooo hidden!) The two-mile trek took me 3 hours to complete.

The trek on Crow Creek (which leads to the falls) was a wonderful hike. It parallels the creek and crosses the stream several times. It was nice and shady most of the time under an overcast day. It seems everywhere we have been lately, there have been daily showers and this state park is no exception. The hike was mellow with just a few harder inclines. It felt so good to be out hiking with my cameras again.

Hidden Falls was wonderful, certainly no Bridal Falls, but beautiful in it’s own right.

Till we meet again!
I was disappointed that hiker/bikers had left trash along the trail and at Hidden Falls. I guess that’s what happens when so many people come to enjoy such a wonderful campground. It is the first time in our campground stays that we have found indiscriminate dumping of gmo trash.
