Traveled through CO (after Wolf Creek Pass) to WY. We passed through Pueblo after a stand-still on I-25 at exit 102, due to an accident. We missed most of the Friday rush-hour traffic through Denver by getting there by noon.
Arrived at Curt Gowdy State Park, outside Laramie, by 2:30pm. There are quite a few lakes, formed by reservoirs here, where fishing abounds and boating is allowed in a no-wake environment. We have geese ‘lake-mates’ and can see the fish jump out of the water for mosquito patrol, thank you fish.

We were concerned that we wouldn’t get a space with electricity, due to the fact that we are considered ‘walk-ins’ (without a reservation). Reservations can only be made 4 days in advance, which doesn’t lend to our Gypsy status. If we did get a campsite we thought it wouldn’t include electricity because there were only 4 sites with electricity in this campground. When we checked in at the Visitor Center, the young man at the VC helm greeted us, he said “you’re in luck, we just had a cancellation, would you like electricity with your site?” Lucky us!!! We have had incredible luck in getting ideal camping spots without reservations. We do ‘mentally’ ask for campground spaces, though. We might add that we have become spoiled in our ‘RV status’ and now require electricity in our camp sites. We have almost forgotten the days when we used to camp-out in the back of Blanca Tatonka, our other white Toyota.

Looks perfect! Enjoy Laramie and I’ll see you in less than a week! WAHOO!

The closest thing I have come to camping is the Holiday Inn but this looks terrific and I’m so glad you are enjoying life and not working so hard.
Love you guys,
