After finally leaving for our Gypsy Road trip we spent the night at Santa Rosa Lake in South Eastern NM. This would be a beautiful place in, say, January – April, BUT in June ‘not so much’. It was 95 degrees at 5:30pm when we arrived, the high for the day was 102!!! The ‘no-seeums’ were out in full force, not to mention the mosquitoes… They did have showers to wash off the Mosquito spray – you had to like HOT water though. I did have to keep pushing the shower button to keep the water flowing. The Lake was huge, and if we had a boat it would have been a great place to fish or water ski.
