Last few days the weather has been cloudy/overcast. Looks and sounds like rain, yet just smoke and mirrors. Going down to the water’s edge early in the mornings to get a glimpse of the life around the lakes. Saw a spotted sandpiper (?) this am. and lots of waterfowl getting ready for breakfast. No pics today, just watched from afar through binoculars, by the time I get the camera turned on and ready for pics, the focus has flown away.
Went to the library in Walsenburg to check out a birding book to help ID the birds we see. Didn’t have the one I wanted to use, to see if it was worth buying. If anyone has a favorite ‘birding’ ID…ing book let me know. I have an app on my phone but it would be nice to have a hardcopy also.
